Unread message count in notifications

using Sense 4.0 on a HTC One X, my unread message counts don't show for messages (using htc app), gmail and touchdown.

Anyone know how to fix this? Is this some "feature" in ICS like one volume control for both notifications and ringtones?

Are you referring to the badges that appear on the app icons, showing the count for unread mail/messages? If so, my Gmail app is not showing badges, and I can't seem to find a setting to change that. However, the stock mail app and stock (sms) message app does seem to display the badges for new mail/messages correctly. There are notification settings for both of these apps, but not anything that specifically references the app icon badges.

Yeah, the badges, my messages however using the stock one aren't showing either, very weird.
