Unrevoked is not a rom, it is a flash tool to unlock your phone. Once you run unrevoked, you can use the custom recovery (Clockwork) to install a custom rom. My experience is most roms don't affect battery life too much, the kernel is where the juice savings happen. You could always try an app called setcpu once rooted, but I have found it does me more harm than good... your milage may vary.
