Hey guys, unrooted my Evo because going to pass it on to someone but I still have the superuser icon in the apps menu, any way to remove this, its probably not installed but the icon remains, thanks for any help.

The superuser icon doesnt grant super permissions, but keeps track of which apps have superuser access granted. So even if the app is there with a list of su granted apps, it does not mean that those apps can runa nymore with su.

You can uninstall the app.

Someone else had this issue as well on a different device and found that there had been two superuser apk's installed. Used root explorer to uninstall the second, just a thought.

why dont you just reroot and use root explorer to delete the file then unroot again?

I would run an RUU. This will completely wipe everything and return your phone to a clean, stock OS with nothing installed except what comes from the factory. You should do this anyway if you are selling/giving your phone to someone else.

Also make sure to format the SD card if it's staying with the phone.

Tried root explorer but its telling me that the apk is read only and cant be deleted, how would I go about running an RUU, do I need to grab it from somewhere? Thanks.

Thanks Ill try this, so once I install the official Sprint RUU it would be unrooted, correct, no need to manually do it?
