Rooted with Unrevoke3 and for the life of me don't know what I was thinking. Everybody said rooting is easy and I assumed anybody could do it, well the rooting wasn't so bad it's trying to figure out what roms to install that has killed this experience for me.:(

Downloaded Baked snak, rom manager and titanium backup. Called myself backing up everything which apparently I didn't do correctly lost all my apps, and somehow phone rebooted and the titanium backup is also gone. I am so frustrated I just wanna go back to the way things were before root I didn't even get a chance to enjoy root because I just don't know what the heck I'm doing!

hahah sucks. I rooted only for some apps like screenshot apps and overclocking apps. I'm fine with the stock ROM.

sounds like you got past the hard stuff, not sure how you didn't have the stuff backed up unless you did it wrong in titanium backup. At this point if I were you I'd just set up fresh with a nice rom... Nothing to lose now.

Bare in mind though, with rooting this type off stuff can happen.

Make sure your going to settings in titanium backup and clicking on the batch icon. That's how you restore your apps if you did not know.

I'm assuming I have to manually back up each app first I think that's what I did wrong?

You should be able to download all of your apps from the market if you didn't properly back them up in titanium.

And let me get this straight...you reinstalled titanium after trying a new ROM and then clicked "batch" within titanium, and then clicked the "restore apps" button?

Note that you can't use batch functionality if you didn't buy Titanium Backup. The free version requires you do it by hand, per app.

Sasha, dont unroot. This happens to everyone thats new. Pay for ROM Manager, SetCPU and for Titanium back up. I also use AppBrain to back up apps.

Umm no I didn't do that the first time, because apparently when I downloaded titanium I never backed up everything to begin with. I didn't unroot yet I started over with rom manger bought the paid app also bought the paid app of titanium this time, but it says it has to be downloaded to the computer and installed from there guess I'll do that part when I get home. In the mean time I'm backing them up by hand.

Apparently the new rom I was trying to use never installed anyway when the phone rebooted I still had the bake snack. It's been less then a day I guess I'll give it some time and play with it I sure hate to be defeated by a phone! LOL:p

I guess I just got overly frustrated plus I'm not really seeing the benefits of the root as of yet, maybe I should of tried a different rom I don't see the teerthing option on this one, and my quardrant score was no higher then normal?

Second Vaelpak.... Good non-sense ROM... I don't do a lot of gaming so I don't see MAJOR benefits since rooting... I am getting better battery life and all the Sprint Bloat ware is gone which is nice... Even as a NASCAR fan I would never use that stupid program or the NFL program either...

Probably the best part of being rooted is the Themes.. Making the EVO look the way you want it to look instead of stock HTC or Android... You can play around with the look and it's pretty good...

The AC ROM has the tethering app built in. I was frustrated at first too. I gave it a week and I can't imagine going back to not being rooted.

Actually that's the one I was going to try but when I downloaded rom manger I just installed one of the ones included with that. When I try to flash a new rom do I need to download titanium again or will it stay installed?

I've only installed Vaelpak, I would back everything up just in case if you are going to switch. Im pretty new to this too, so I havent, nor plan on switching ROMS. I dont know if you lose your apps when switching back and forth from ROMs.

When you flash a new ROM, download titanium backup and then do a restore of your apps. The backup from titanium is stored on your sd card so you won;t lose it when you flash to new ROMs.
