Happy New Year All!!!

I have searched with no luck. My situation is that my charging/USB port somehow got pushed in and now my EVO will not charge so I need to take it to Sprint.

First off, Do I need to unroot since this is obviously a hardware issue? If I should unroot, is there a way to do it without using a USB connection?

I tried using this thread: How do I un-root without a computer? - xda-developers

After the PC36IMG.zip get analyzed, my phone says:

"Main Version Older"
"Update Fail!"
"Do you want to reboot"

I am at a loss now and was hoping maybe some of you can help me out.

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: Sorry, meant to post this in the ROMs/Hacks sections, Mods, feel free to move this thread.

Try this PC36IMG.zip:

MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service

This PC36IMG is from the latest RUU, it will give you 3.70.651.1

And yes, if you are taking it to Sprint it's a good idea to unroot. If they notice it's rooted they will likely void your warranty even though it's a hardware issue.

If the connector is physically pushed in, they might tell you it's physical damage and not covered by warranty. In that case, you would have to pay for repair or replacement unless you have insurance.
