Volume up rocker stopped working today, broke it apart (Sprint already opened it up before with a power button issue) and found that the button on the board has lost its connection.

So, I need to bring it in for repair, but I'm rooted with Mik Shifted. I'm in the process of backing up my data/apps and I'm starting to realize that this is quite a lengthy process to try and save data to restore to stock. Anyone else find themselves in the same predicament and find a way to speed up the process?

Backup everything with titanium backup. Then Run the RUU... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=971550

When you get your new one, root and restore with titanium

Yeah, painfully slow though, but it is what I did.

Sprint blows, the up volume button has come unsoldered with the board, but they won't replace or fix because the moisture sensor went off at the usb port. Only water this phone has seen is the sweat from being in my pocket from living in the southeast. I think they are going too far with this crap. What does a moisture sensor have to do with not fixing the volume button. Everything works fine on the phone, so water hasn't caused any issues.

Dude, I feel your pain. The lights went out on my keyboard and capacitive buttons, when I took it to Sprint they told me it was due to water damage. Like you, I live in the Southeast and the only moisture my phone has seen is the humidity in the air.

Lemme guess, $100 to send through insurance. The best is the guy kept talking like I knew how to do that. Nearly had to beat him upside the head to get any info out of them. What has happened to customer service?
