Unsure about how to reset my device

I just followed the post: forums.androidcentral.com/verizon-fascinate-rooting-roms-hacks/66762-tools-quick-links-please-read-post-1-before-posting-forum.html for rooting my Fascinate. I followed post #4 for rooting with Froyo. Everything went just as described in the post. When it says, "It will now install the Superuser.apk this may take some time while it installs when it is over it will say:

Success-after you see Success hit Ctrl-C Then reset your device

3. You have now achieved Root, congrats. If this didnt work for you well then time for a different approach. ""
I was unsure as to what "Then Reset your device" meant. So I just turned the device off and then back on. It does not appear that I have root access because I still can not uninstall apps that came with the phone.
So my question is, how do I "Reset my device" for this scenario?

I believe that the instructions mean to 'reboot' your device.
I would believe that if you did not get an error you have root..

If you have root access you can use Titanium Back up to freeze the apps you are talking about (paid option).. you cannot uninstall the apps that came with the phone unless you apply a flash a ROM that already has them removed... or

Using a file manager you go to the system/app folder on the root of the phone and delete the corresponding apk files.. (this can cause problems if you are not familiar with this process) - Avoid until you fully understand what could happen.

You can use a file manager like Root Explorer to rename the apps (apk files) in the system/app folder on the root of the phone... there is a thread in this forum that will give you guidance on how to do that.

Resetting your devise is exactly what you did....just powered down and back on. Can you see the Superuser icon in your app drawer?

I never rooted this way but if you see the icon, then the easiest way to get rid of some of the bloat would be to download Titanium Backup (staple of rooted phone) and just freeze (never delete unless you are 100% positive you know what you're doing) the apps. If TB doesn't gain Root access then you didn't do something right in Post #4.

I checked my app drawer, Superuser is there so it did take.This is my first root. I am very new at this. I really appreciate the help.

Start with using Titanium Backup. It will do a check of the root and busybox files on initial startup. If it sees any problems, it will tell you and allow you to download updated, working busybox files which should solve any other problems you may have.
