The update is available for the EVO Shift if you go to Settings > System updates > HTC software update > Check now.

You'll need 35% battery before it'll let you install and the file's about 4MB.

Should be a fix for those having sms/mms issues... maybe Sense reloading??

I loaded it yesterday, and so far I have not seen Sense reload after exiting any applications. I've tried to make it do it by loading lots of apps, but so far Sense seems stable now.

Still have the Exchange email syncing bug though.

I am thrilled that the sense restart seems to be gone! It was pushing me close to getting another phone :)
I was wondering if anyone has noticed improved wifi? I'm getting a decent signal where it used to have lots of trouble.
On the downside, my alarm didn't fire off this morning? Maybe user error, but it seemed like it was set correctly.

Yep. Seems to have pulled double duty. Thanks HTC! You do updates right. :D

It seems I spoke too soon. The Sense rebooting problem is still there. It hide itself after the update, but came back after I updated several apps this morning. :-\

Totally FUBAR'd my phone....might be the ad-hoc workaround I used for the MMS issue and keeping sense happy at update to GB.....reset land here I come!

Anyone else have a FUBAR job on the phone from the update? I came from the Samsung Epic where Froyo basically nuked the phone and it wouldn't work properly from that day forth. I saw that post and I backed off letting it update.

I was "told" that the update didn't take and that the Sprint geniuses would try to force the update again to get rid of the Force close notifications that started almost 24-hours after I completed the update. My work is a 5 minute walk from the closest Sprint store....got back and already has a message saying they had no luck and needed to factory reset the phone......it now works and I have everything back to the way I had them previously but I am still getting the (in)famous HTC white boot screen intermittently......FML

At least mine doesn't keep trying to get me to update after I visited the update screen. The Epic kept trying until I would accidentally update it. (on one of my many replacement phones that came pre-Froyo and wanted to be updated at all cost.

I did a factory reset and then went to a store and had them push both the OS update and the hot fix update and now everything seems to be ok.....only time I get the HTC boot logo is when I add or change something i.e. add new app or delete something. As crappy as a factory reset is, it was manageable, only down for a partial day!

Just got the update. I've not had the SMS problem, but I don't use the native app. I've been trying to get sense to reboot and haven't so far. Here's hoping that annoyance is gone!:D

help...... have the update... but it want install......just restarts and gos to black screen - little android - and triangle with exclamation

So clearly this "update" did not fix the Sense restart issue. Without anything drastic, is there anything we can do other than continue to call Sprint and complain?

Not that I know of. My phone is exactly the same as before this so-called update. SMS is actually a little buggier now. I'll type something in and it'll disappear... smh.

So far so good for me. I've only had to sense reboots since the install. Both have happened after changing an app. I'm wondering if the problem is really more a product of crappy apps instead of the phone? Just a thought.
