[UPDATE] Canadian Customers - Nexus 5 Not Getting Voicemail Notifications

Looks like this is an Android 4.4 issue. Also happening on Nexus 4 after 4.4 upgrade. Hope they get this fixed soon.

Good to know, although as previously reported it's not a problem on ALL carriers. So strange. Hopefully Android 4.4.1 fixes this.

This is now fixed in Android 4.4.1. Now i'm getting 2 bloody messages, one is the standard "voicemail notification" from android, the other is a text message from my carrier telling me that there's a new voicemail. Oh well, better than not getting it.

I just got 4.4.2, problem has not been fixed for Sprint customers.

Got 4.4.2 yesterday and the SMS to 9216 started
Then I found out that the genereic email client would not show live links no more. Major bummer.
So I installed Aquamail for now and uninstalled Visual voice mail ( Fido app) seems to have solved the SMS sending.
I'll be calling Fido tomorrow but I after reading the posts I'm not very hopefull.

That's strange, it's been fixed since 4.4.1. Do you have notification turned on from your cell phone provider? I know on Rogers you can login to your voicemail and actually turn off notification settings.

Even if it is just for Canadians I figured info that the 4.4.1/4.4.2 update didn't fix the voicemail notification for all carriers might be helpful...
