Update Corrupted

Been searching around for a bit tryin to figure this out but to no avail. Firstly i purchased my EVO brand new in box on ebay however the guy opened it to install some battery saving something or anothers and remove sprint bloatware..so i took it to sprint asap and just had it factory reset. So enough for background. I download the new froyo update and go to install it and it loads for about 30 seconds and a red question mark appears. Phone resets and i go back to try reinstall and it says the update was corrupted. ive downloaded it 4 different times and attempted to update with the same result. Any suggestions on what i can do to make this install? and does it erase the corrupted file or do i have this file 4 times on my phone somewhere? Thanks and sorry for the ultimate newb questions.

Nobody has any ideas? I heard if battery was low it won't update so I got a full charge and still a no go.
