update for 3g watches

Has anybody heard when the 3g watches will get the update. I have been waiting since the watch came out for this update and we still don't have it. A new watch will be coming out in 6 months or less. What the heck is taking so long? The longer this goes and the more issues I have with Samsung products and lack of support the more i'm thinking of switching to Apple. So frustrated.

I would believe that it is the carriers who control the update releases for the 3G versions of these watches so you might want to contact your respective carrier to inquire on the status of such updates.

It's friggin lame how the carriers are, once again, delaying updates for our devices.

I contacted Samsung and included screenshots of the settings (hold down home on the watch, swipe right) to provide as much info as possible. Got this response:
"You have written that you have Baseband version as “R730VVRU1AOL3” on your Gear S2. As informed in your email, we do not have information about this Baseband version in our data base. The Baseband version in our data base is “R730VVRU1AOJ6”"

Seems S2 Classic owners are in the same boat - they only updated the S2.

Both Samsung and Verizon are notorious for leaving their customers hanging... all I really want is the notification dot for new notifications so that I can choose any watch face that I want! LOL, it's the little things...
