I downloaded the update and then decided not to install so I don't lose root...now I get that lovely hourly reminder to install. Anyone know how I can get rid of that. I have tried to figure out where the file is...but when I run a search with root explorer, I get nothing...don't want to mess up and delete something important.

If you use Titanium backup you can freeze the update.2.3.6 process to stop the prompts. Getting root on 2.3.6 uses the same method as 2.3.4.

FYI, you may want to hold off on updating to 2.3.6 anyway. There have been several reports of issues with WiFi dropping out, random freezes and other annoyances. I personally switched to using a CM7 based rom to get away from the Motoblur crap, but it requires your bootloader to be unlocked and a custom recovery.

VooDoo OTA RootKeeper works like a charm. Install from market, backup your root, install update, then rerun RootKeeper to restore root.

My son had updated his phone ( Unrooted ) and he still experiences these problems. Could it be an issue with the phone? Or just the problem with the new update? Thanks!

I doubt it's the phone, reading the posts on various forms there seems to be some issues with the update.

Using Root Explorer, mount as R/W, go into cache & look for the official update file(s). Should say "blur" in the filename I believe. Delete the file. Worked for me. Or can save file to your computer for later use if necessary.

You guys have 2.3.6 ?
Us European Atrix have 2.3.4 !!! (The only I recived)

Do you have the 1080p recording?

Now , back on topic
The update file is a ZIP called Upate , I think you can find it in the Phone's memory (that's the update I had)

I hope you find it ...
