Update Problems

I have been having problems with the update for my Spectrum. The phone automatically downloads the update. Then it reboots the system to complete the install, but when the phone turns on an error message pops up and says that the update failed.
The phone will then go through the whole auto-update process again a few hours later and keep doing it 4 or 5 times a day. Its been happening for about 5 days now.
The only mod I have done to the phone is I have rooted it so I could remove some of the stupid factory installed apps I don't want.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Being as you removed "system" apps instead of freezing them, you have answered your own question. The update checks to make sure those apps are there and the correct version to patch. If not, the entire patch fails.

What do you mean by TB backups?

I froze most all the unwanted apps. The only ones I removed was NFL, Golf, Blockbuster and obvious non essential crap.

You say non-essential, but the system update says "why is it not there". Remember, manufactures build updates for stock phones, not rooted/modified phones. As for TB, I mean Titanium Backup. It seems to be the most common app for backing up and restoring of apps/data.

Okay I do have Titanium Backup and have used it to freeze and remove apps.

I am not to savvy with with the OS of android phones so I am going to have to have it spelled out in simple terms.

Anyway to get the apps I deleted back?

Okay I am going to follow the info on the link you gave me. In the future I should just freeze any and all unwanted preinstalled apps? The only reason I removed some of the apps because even when frozen they still wanted to update,

you can uninstall them if you like but when an update comes out just know you will have issues with taking it if you've uninstalled them. But you can always go back to stock and then take the update.
