Update restores ability to toggle network while locked; can't use Find My Device?

I got my January update and decided to reread what the feature drops and updates were. Apparently, they restored the ability to toggle WiFi (and airplane mode) without unlocking. I didn't know that was possible in the past and now it's "fixed" with this update.

If someone stole your phone, they could put it into airplane mode which would make "Find My Device" ineffective at tracking your phone.

I also realized in this that you can power down the phone without unlocking. Same issue.

Just interesting, I guess.

Thanks for the disturbing info lol. Moved wifi and airplane toggles out of available tiles from locked just to be safe.

I can't toggle anything unless I unlock after I got the Jan. update. I can see them when I swipe down on my locked P6P but can't do anything with them until I either use my fingerprint or code to unlock.

I'm on Verizon. What carrier are you on?

Unlocked phone, on AT&T. I don't know why the carrier would matter though, would it?

I just tried it again. I can turn on airplane mode. I can power down. I wonder what the difference is?

I'm on Verizon with a P6P purchased from Verizon and I can turn network and wifi on and off with the pull-down menu without unlocking the phone and can also power it off. Sort of disturbing that someone could pick up my phone and turn it off so I couldn't find it. I don't think it is supposed to work that way.

Agree. It seems like an easy fix too (you can't get into settings without unlocking).

I sent a report through my phone (SETTINGS > ABOUT PHONE > feedback). They probably need multiple reports.
