i just got off the phone with a htc rep for a recent survey that i took about the multitasking and proximity sensor, and she informed me that i should be able to update my phones software today manually, or i should be expecting to see a notifcation with an update embedded in it today. i got excited and tried to do both firmware and htc software updates and nothing. she said that htc is well aware of the proximity sensor issues and the update should fix that, she seemed to be steering away from the multitasking issue even tho i brought it up mulitpule times which leads me to believe the next update will not have anything to do with that which irritates me. ill keep my eyes open today and tomorrow considering im pretty sure that i wont be getting a message today. if anyone gets an update please post and will see who gets it first.

Thanks for sharing, but as of right now, there are no updates. I am not sure I would believe some first-level rep, anyway. And even if HTC *ever* admits there is a major multitasking/memory management issue, like you, I doubt we would see anything this fast that would address it.

yeah i made sure when the rep told me about the update that it wasnt just a prl update which she said wouldnt have anything to do with htc as that is based of sprint and connectivity not software like you said, but yeah she was trying to dodge my questions about the multitasking and was favoring the proximity sensor. i have not recieved an update today yet either, if i dont see it by tomorrow i will call them back and email them to see what they have to say cause she said to expect it today but i was skeptical. i really hope that the memory management does get fixed eventually but from my convo with the rep i dont expect it in the next update

Right. There are no updates for the LTE at the moment. Most level 1 reps don't know jack. They like to think that they do but they just talk out of their a@#s most of the time.

Sad, isn't it?

I have not had ONE PROBLEM with the proximity sensor. Yet I am annoyed EVERY DAY by multitasking/memory management/app killing issues. Ug.

I doubt we will see it. Maybe in the fall when we get jelly bean. Also I bet we will even have to wait for that too.

I would love to eat these words in the future, but if I was betting real money, I would say that we'll never see a true fix from HTC regarding multi-tasking. The only way we're going to get it fixed to our satisfaction is when HTC releases source and the dev community works their magic.

I hate to chime in with a negative also, but I have a feeling they might make a few subtle changes that won't amount to a real fix. And 4.1? HA! *Maybe* next Spring.... if we are lucky.

Meanwhile, my Evo 3D (now my spare phone/nightstand clock) still sits with no 4.0 almost a year after the announcement of ICS...

Google Wallet for Sprint's HTC Evo 4G LTE will be fixed this month via OTA update | The Verge

I guess google wallet will also be updated with this update.this news confirms that the update is this month but doesn't confirm the date the rep had given me. I'm guessing the sane update that fixes google wallet fixes the proximity sensor issues. :D

All the negativity in this thread at the low level htc rep, I guess she was right after all since there is an update available this morning.

Downloaded an installed

This update (version 1.22.651.3) addresses:

Google security updates
Wifi disconnect issue
Time zone issue
Google Wallet fix
Side loaded video pause issue
Random power cycling issue
Pioneer Bluetooth Car Kit connection issue
Gallery app crash
Calendar reminder (all day even time) issue"

Updated and Google Wallet is now working. The update is 41.7mb and probably does something else too, but I haven't fully explored it yet.

Already noticed after setting up google wallet again that my old prepaid balance is gone. I had put 100 dollars on there and used not even ten of that wtf:banghead:
