Update version 4.24.651.1

My wife's EVO 4g is having some issues so I was going to do a factory reset. I decided to check for updates first. It says that the update 4.24.651.1 is available. Do I want to do this update? Is there a more current one? If so, do I have to do this update first? And finally, should I update first and then factory reset, or the other way around?

Thanks so much for your help. I have the EVO 3d. Its been a while since I have had to visit this forum.
