I updated to HTC One M8 to Android 6.0 and left my phone to work. When I returned it was in Android Recovery Mode with the following message below the standard options:

Supported API: 3
handle_cota_install: install cwpkg to /cache/data/cwtemp/cwpkg.zip
handle_cota_install: install cwprop to /cache/data/cwtemp/cw.prop
Write host_mode success
handle_cota_install: Can't mount /sdcard

There is no sdcard in the device, nor has there been in the past. I have tried wiping the cache partition and performing a factory reset, neither of which worked. Any advice would be appreciated.

I have the same problem...
Android 6.0 update crashed and now I am stuck with Android Recovery window :(
I can't even connect my USB since I never turned on debug mode...
Any solutions?
Thank you in advance.

Bring i the carrier - it's a liability issue. (They broke your phone, they get to fix or replace it.)

google ruu htc one m8 then down load your rom for your phone mine was unlock/developer then follow the instuctions

I did what michelo1 suggested and it worked!

To clarify:
Download HTC Sync Manager if you haven't already
Download the appropriate ROM (for me it was unlocked/developer)
Turn on your phone into recovery mode (while the phone is off, hold volume down and then hold power)
Select 'FASTBOOT'
Connect your phone to your PC using the USB cable (your phone should now say 'FASTBOOT USB'
Run the .exe ROM file
Your phone should now be fine

Hi guys,
I have the same problem.
Downloading RUU from HTC and installation won't work.
When the phone is connected to PC I can see FASTBOOT USB but after running the ROM nothing happens because the device can't be found.
The HTC Sync manager is installed but when I connect the phone it says no phone connected.
I have no idea if the USB debugging is on or off.
FYI in bootloader menu it says:
***Software official.
***LOCKED***
M8_UL_CA PVT SHIP S-OFF
Any ideas please do let me know.
