I got an update this morning. I'm sure you guys can fill me in on what it was!?

Thanks to all. By the way, I really enjoy this forum.
Got some screen shots too when I woke up and saw it. Just have to figure out how to post em.

Completed this update this morning and it broke root access. Didn't screw up the phone and installed fine so I guess we will see how it goes.

It is a Google security patch. It is for fixing a root method.

Didn't research anything about the update lol. That would explain it then, guess new method will be out eventually :p.

Phone really doesn't need rooting if you ask me though.

It definitely needs rooting if you want to use nifty apps like RootExplorer, AdAway, etc.

On that front I agree with you 100% but as an overall package I feel that this is the most "complete" phone that I have used in a while. All I have to do is run Nova on it and I am good to go. Yea AdAway and RootExplorer are great apps but those are the only 2 that I used that needed root access so for now its not a huge loss. Besides, according to Moto Jelly Bean is coming before 2013 so hopefully that's sooner than later.

I had ota rootkeeper installed. Took the update, still have root. I don't know if it will matter from here on out though. Especially if all it was fixing was the known root method.

There was more to this update than meets the eye. I downloaded it too. What I found is that after the update, I now see Isis Wallet available in the playstore for Razr HD/Maxx phones. I just check day before yesterday and it was not there for this phone in search. I just downloaded the app to my new Razr HD Maxx and it is ready to use whenever they turn it loose outside of the pilot areas of Austin,TX & Salt Lake City. Oh and of course when some retailers get the paypass reader installed. I'm in Florence,SC

I'm told I have an incompatible device and to contact Verizon. I'm in NW Arkansas.

Just got mine yesterday and it came with a 4G/lte sim card. It has to have that card to work. I know it's a 4G phone and is NFC capable, but other articles on web about Isis said the NFC sim card was needed. It's not in my area yet, still in pilot areas, but don't know why you would not be able to see it and download from playstore. ?? Well, here is an update, I attempted to open the app and got message this phone does not meet requirements to run isis blah blah. Another article says it will be included. Need to get nfc sim form verizon when available

I think you're on to something - the update was more than likely to add support for ISIS. Verizon mentioned the Droid RAZR HD would be updated to support ISIS this week, so more than likely that's what this is about.

The only question is if we still need to go get a new SIM once the service goes live wherever we are. I'm betting yes, but at least things are moving along.
