Welcome to Android Central! I've been seeing posts about this lately, but no one has responded to any of my inquiries. People say that when they "tap the Answer button," it doesn't answer. The question here is if the problem is occuring with the incoming call notification (at the top of the screen, when you're actively using the phone for something else), or if it occurs with the fullscreen incoming call screen (when the phone is asleep and then you get a call). With the former, a single tap on the Answer button should work. With the latter, you typically have to swipe the button, not just tap it. When are you seeing the problem?

I have the same problem. After the update I can no longer answer calls or dismiss alarms from the lock screen. I'm doing the same thing I used to do - tap the 'Answer' button or hit the 'Dismiss' button. It appears to register the tap, but it doesn't do anything. It's very frustrating.

I've just set 'use volume up to answer calls' as a workaround. I use volume down to dismiss alarms. But no-one seems to have an answer to the problem.

Welcome to Android Central! Thanks for those details -- can you also tell us if swiping the Answer button on the incoming call lockscreen doesn't do anything either?

I have the same problem with note 9, since the first update. I am so frustrated!!!! Why has no one addressed this problem. I loved this phone before updates.....now I hate it!!!! I'm tired of spending all my time trying to find a fix!

I can't answer incoming calls on my Note 9. can someone please help
Are you swiping the green button? You can't just tap it.

@P Darway, same question, if you\'re still watching this thread.

And how can anyone have updated to Android 10 in 2018, when it's still in beta in June 2019? Android 9 (Pie), maybe?

Any updates (sorry, no pun intended) on this? A co-worker of mine just told me about this problem yesterday.

This is what I see happening on my One Plus 3T.

When I have my phone locked, and in my pocket, if I receive a call, the camera opens up which causes the lock screen to activate. When I get the phone out of my pocket, the phone either unlocks via face unlock, or I have to enter the pattern to unlock it, as the call fucntion is trapped behind the camera function.

As soon as I unlock the phone, the camera function stays open, and I have to close it, while doing so the call function disappers. (It never shows up as a running app). The call is still going on, my phone is still ringing and vibrating like crazy, and I have to drag down the notification dock, which does not come down until the 3rd try, and then click on the green phone sign for the call notification to answer the call.

All of this on a good day.

On a bad day, my phone gets locked (as in nothing gets displayed) as soon as I am getting the call, and I have to wait for the person to cut the call, before I can do anything with the phone.

If I have the phone unlocked, and I am doing something on the phone, I get the top notificaiton for the call, and I am able to answer the call without any issues.
