Okay, Froyo is what came stock on your phone if you got it about a month ago.
You would find this out if you go to settings>about phone>and look under where it says "Android Version"
if it says 2.2 (or 2.2.2 or whatever it is) then it is Froyo.
If you recently updated from the OTA (over the air) update pushed from Verizon, then it updates you to 2.3.3 which is called Gingerbread.

Honeycomb is a tablet version of android. Which is Android 3.0. You will not see this on any android smartphone.

Ice cream sandwich is not even released yet. It's apparently supposed to be the standard update for both phones, and tablets. But as of right now, people are just talking about it and it is still in development. Be patient, my child.

i have 2.2.2, last time i updated it broke my phone...had to mail it back...should i try to update again?:-\:'(:(

Yes, the odds of it bricking your phone again are slim to none and Gingerbread just flat out made my phone work better and my battery life seems a least a couple of hours longer. So far I don't have one complaint about the update (that I didn't have with Froyo).

Give the battery a little while before you judge it. I absolutely hated the batter life for the first day or two but it seemed to extend its life after it ran through a few cycles. I bought an oem back-up battery and experienced the same thing.
