updates on T-Mobile

I'm considering getting this phone unlocked and I have tmobile, so when the eventual lollipop and any other updates come will I be ok? Sorry if this a super noob question.

SIM-locking has nothing to do with the ROM, so it doesn't affect updates. What will happen is that when you put it on the new carrier (which is why you unlock the phone), you'll stop receiving over the air updates. The new carrier won't update a TMobile phone, and you're not a TMobile customer, so they won't update your phone. So you'll be okay, but you'll have to find update files (for the TMobile version of the phone) and do the updates manually.
