Updating from 4.2.2 to 5.1.1

Hey all, I just bought a used nexus 7 2012 wifi only. Unwrapped it and it pretty quickly updated to version 4.2.2. Haven't seen any other update notifications since. Will it continue to update automatically via ota to 5.1.1? Can I sideload from 4.2.2 to 5.1.1? Should I sideload to 5.1.1 from 4.2.2? Sorry for all the questions. I tried searching around the threads but couldn't find anything about going from 4.2.2 straight to 5.1.1. A lot of the manual flash stuff I read pointed out that the download files were for "x" update coming from "x" update. Anyway I'm not quite sure what to do about it so any advice about how to proceed would be greatly appreciated!

If Google has issued any ROM past 4.2.2 for that device, it will update. If they haven't, it won't and you can't. At Google's download page, they seem to have ROMs up to 5.1.1 for the 2012 Wifi. (Just a little more than halfway down the page.)
