I have a question regarding flashing a newer version of CM7 over the one I currently have. I currently have 7.0.3 and have had it for quite a while, but all of a sudden yesterday my phone started acting fritzy - the home button does nothing, I have to hit the back button to get back to my home screen; my phone does not ring at all, everything just goes right to voicemail; I have no sounds for notifications even though I readjusted the sound settings. I have tried freeing up space and resources by deleting several apps, changing from a live wallpaper to a regular one, and I've even done a cache/dalvik cache/battery stats wipe, and run the fix permissions. Nothing has helped.
So, I thought since there is a newer version of CM7 out now that it's the perfect time to update and maybe this would fix my issues. However, I am trying to avoid doing a full data wipe as I've had to do this multiple times over the past year as various issues have cropped up with different builds of CM7, and it's just such a pain to go back and re-install apps and set the phone back up how I have it. My question is, can I safely flash 7.1.0 over 7.0.3 (after wiping cache and dalvik cache of course) without the full data wipe? I have seen some other posts alluding to this being safe and having been done successfully before, however I didn't find a definitive answer that also covered the issues I'm having; maybe I didn't look hard enough - sorry if I unnecessarily created a new thread!
Anyway, if anyone can help me out I'd be grateful
