updating from rooted custom rom and kernel.

Just prepping for when froyo lands, can I just update or do I need to return to a stock Rom and kernel first? Thanks!
P.s. I have simply updated in the past with no problems just concerned since froyo is a little more than a regular update to fix bugs.

If you're rooted just wait for a rooted version of the update to be released by the dev's. It might take a little extra longer, though, it'll be way less of a headache.

I have read that others that are rooted just installed the update and everything went fine. You will lose your root though so the apps that require root wont work.
