Hey so j got cyanogen mod 10.1 ;75 there's a new version up is it safe to download ? Do I need to do anything in special thank you

Depends on what the dev says. Sometimes they say it's OK to do a "dirty flash" (only wipe cahe/dalvik) and some say to do a clean install.

When in doubt, fully wipe the phone.
