So I've been on the fence about installing Android on my Touchpad, mostly because I'm waiting for an Ice Cream Sandwich port to come out. If I did dual-boot 2.3, how easy would it be to update it to 4.0 when that comes out?

I would assume easy as loading another Rom. Probably not to hard. I have android now and I'm not worried about it.

Probably as easy as updating from alpha 2 to 3.

Make sure your battery 50 percent or more..

1. Download zip of ROM
2. Reboot into recovery (create a backup!)
3. Wipe cache
4. Wipe dalvik cache (under advanced)
5. Install zip from # 1
6. Reboot to system

That's it. Takes about 15 minutes total.

Haven't had any issues since alpha 3. Just remember first think after you initially get android running, make a backup right away in recovery just in case.

My guess is like everyone else says, it will be as easy as updating from alpha 2 to alpha 3. But I think a full system wipe will also be needed before hand as its a new operating system.

I agree with the above....if you go ahead and install CM now you'll have Moboot on there as well as Clockwork Recovery, which you'll need in order to load ICS anyway, so you'll be that far ahead.... and I would think a full wipe would be necessary as well as alot changes with ICS.

As a vaguely on-topic note, I see that one of the main CM devs, dalingrin, has tweeted that he is just concentrating on ICS now.

I think this is good news

Yes it is!
So probably CM7 is 'tight' enough now to continue to fill the gap with only a few 'fixes' here and there?
