Upgrade at Subsided Price and Keep Unlimited Data

Hey, just had a hot little tip run across my desk.

There's a reddit thread that claims that you can upgrade once and keep your unlimited data, so I did a little write up on it.

Anyone think this might work? It makes sense to me.

Yes but you still have to be eligible for an upgrade don't you? My upgrade availability is more than a year away.

I didn't go into the full thread, but this seems like a long shot, at best. I guess it's worth a try, but I'm with debsdroid...I still have a whole year left before time to upgrade, of course with unlimited data.

Definitely one of those things where it's all about the rep you get and your history with the company. If you get a willing rep and are a long time customer (VZW seems to bend rules more for customers if they've been with them for awhile), it might work. If you don't get the right rep, they'll just say they can't do it.

Also, this may just be something that hasn't been purged from VZW's software yet and will be gone with a future revision, so don't count on this ability lasting. But if you're eligible for an upgrade, the worst thing that can happen is they say no.

Yes you are right, but you can buy a newer phone off ebay or better yet, swappa
