So I have a quick question that the folks at Verizon can't seem to answer. Let me start by saying that the whole point of what I'm trying to do is pay $175 for an ETF not $350 (or whatever it is)
So here's my situation:
Currently I have a family plan with 4 phones. (Soon 5)
Phone 1- Not eligible for upgrade ($350 ETF)
Phone 2 - Not eligible for upgrade ($350 ETF)
Phone 3 - Not eligible for upgrade ($350 ETF)
Phone 4 - Currently Eligible for upgrade. It is a phone that had a $175 ETF but is $70 to cancel right now.
Phone 5 - Soon to be Thunderbolt!!!
So here's what I want to do: I want to transfer the upgrade, (Verizon makes this part very simple) from phone 4 to phone 5 so I have an upgrade eligible for my Thunderbolt in the future if I decide I don't like it. After that I will cancel Phone 4's line. I will not be upgrading before I cancel the line. Verizon doesn't seem to understand that part and continues to say the ETF will be based on whatever phone I upgrade to.
So, after transferring my upgrade and keeping the same phone on line 4 then canceling, will I pay $175?
Any thoughts?
