upgrade?

I have the S6 and am due for an upgrade (was eligible in May). The only real issue I have with my S6 is the lousy battery. I like the cheaper phone bill the last 2 months but now I've strongly been considering upgrading to the S8. Is it worth it?

The only one who can determine that is you. I went from an S7e that worked great and I really liked to the S8+ due only to the lack of replaceable battery and risk that it would fail before the S9 came out. The S8 line is very good though, but get the + if you decide to move.

I went from an S6 to the S8 and am very happy with the change. The difference in battery is significantly positive. The S6 battery went downhill with OS 7.0. Be sure to hold and try the S8 and S8+ before purchasing. I prefer the S8 while one of my adult sons likes the + .

If you coming from an S6 then both the S8 and S8+ would be considerable upgrades for you in terms of battery life. The S8 is more suitable for one handed use and the Plus gives you the same features in a slightly bigger package and 1-2 hours extra battery life.

Only you can determine if it's worth it. I will offer two pieces of advice.

First, go hold and use both to determine which size is best for you. I liked the S8+ as I didn't really think it felt much larger to me than the S8 and I gained a bigger screen and bigger battery. Others will strongly disagree with me.

Second, look for deals. I would suggest deals that don't envolve a trade in. If the deal involves a trade in, I'd avoid the mail in trades. I'm just not a fan personally. There seem to be plenty of deals in the neighborhood of $200 off. Also look for free items like a wireless charger if that's something you are interested in.

thanks for your replies. I'm not one to trade in my old phones so I won't do that. the monthly fee when they first came out was around $30 a month (Verizon). now (thru best buy) looks like its down to $21 a month. not too bad I suppose.

Highly recommend it great device no lag and it's super fast with an awesome camera you can't go wrong.

My former Galaxy was the S6, my current one is the S8+. If you decide to move on, I got two advices; like the S6 the S8 is cristal front and back so go for a good case or cover and take a look at the app in the screen shot is really a good one.
