Now that i have a "workin" fone I'm tryin to learn as much as i can about the os so i can use my fone at it's max potential. I'm very interested in rooting my fone for the root only apps like titanium back up and custom roms, but i need to learn more about it b4 i attempt it.

Welcome to AndroidCentral! You're definitely on the right track. Read up, get a feel for it all, and then don't be too afraid to jump in and explore. The community will be around to help out. I'd take a look at AndroidCentral's Android Dictionary as well. If you're unsure about what something means, it's a safe bet that the dictionary can get you started.
