Simply copy your SD card to a folder on your computer, then copy it to the new SD card. Simple as that. Then everything stays in the same place, and you should have no problems. I have done this several times, as I have switched to larger cards.
But will this work for apps stored on the SD card as well? I know that there has to be some sort of copy protection on those. Or has anyone tried this yet? Nexus One users, I'm looking at you.
I copied via the phone because I didn't have an adapter. I think the only difference is I had to re-do the customization of my notification sounds for audio files that were on the SD card, whereas I suspect if I had done the move with an adapter so that the phone was off the entire time, I probably wouldn't have needed to re-do them.Sorry for bumping an old thread but for those who have upgraded their cards, after copying the files from the old card to the computer, do you copy the files back on to the new card with the card in the phone and plugged in or do you copy to the new card directly in the computer and then put the card in the phone?
Thanks.
