Are you moving over to Google One for back-up of 'original quality' photos and 4k videos. I'm debating the $19.99/year plan. Not sure if I should consider alternative platforms. I do like using Google Photos app across other devices and casting to tv.

Any alternatives worth considering (with original quality)?
Do photos/vids get their quality downgraded 5 years from now if you decide to not pay the annual fee? Can't find the answer on that. On Pixel 3, I read they always remain in original quality forever. Not sure with Google One.

I feel like i'm setting myself up for a lifetime membership with Google!

I'm not the free high quality version is sufficient for me. Too bad google took it away.

$19.99 a year? How much space that is buying you?

I’ve been a Google One customer for years with the 2TB plan for9.99 a month. I use it for all my cloud storage. Photos, videos documents, etc.

For $19.99/year, you get 100 gigabytes. It's the smallest plan.
$29/year for 200 gigabytes. $99/year for 2 terabytes.
These are pay by the year prices. Slightly higher if you pay monthly.
