Upgrading to the Moment Questions

Hello all! I'm going to be upgrading to the Samsung Moment from the Palm Pre when I'm eligible for my upgrade in June and have just a few quick questions about the 2.1 update:

1. Will the Moment I buy in June already have the 2.1 update, or will I have to update it myself?

2. A friend of mine already has the Moment and I've been playing around with it to get used to it. He doesn't have the 2.1 update because the phone hasn't notified him of any updates (he's not an online forum type of guy to even know about it). We tried updating the firmware form the phone, but it says it's up to date even though it shows he's still running 1.5. Can he only update it by connecting it to his computer, or will the update be available OTA at some point?

3. Will future updates be available OTA, or will we always have to update the phone via a computer? My Pre updates OTA and it's very nice, but I just can't deal with the bugs on the Pre anymore.

Any insight would help!!

1. Not sure

2. It's not OTA. You have to download it from either Sprint's or Samsung's site and connect to a computer to install.

3. I don't know for sure, but I seem to recall hearing that they were hoping future updates would be OTA, but I don't know how many more updates there will be for the Moment, or even IF there'll be any more.

All new Moments should have the 2.1 update on them. If not, when you get it, have the tech at the store upgrade it for you before you walk out of the store. If you are ordering online, the update is very simple to perform and there are step by step instructions on the Sprint web site page for the Moment.
