Uploading to app store requires proof of permission?

I recently tried to submit to the play store an app I developed with the help of a friend. Though Google wants proof that I have permission to use the icon, promotional screenshots, image gallery, and APK image library.

So my question is to anyone who has submitted an app to the play store. What is "verifiable, and accepted proof of permission" to use my own creative work.

Why don't you ask Google? I would assume that they want written permission from the copyright holder, but unless you file a copyright you have no proof that you own the content you created.
