US KIW-L24: Manually Update to C567B331 (Android 6.0.1, EMUI 4.0)

Yeah... I loaded this up, went fine. But this isn't my daily driver so I can't speak to the long term operation of the build. Glad they managed to get it to 6.0 before 7.0 was released though.

The update.app file is an ota file that needs to be local on the phone, no computer needed.

I've downloaded the file from link provided above but I'm having issue installing the file. When I click on the file ( which has a ? mark next to it ) it states file does not exist? Am I doing something wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The link should have downloaded a zip file. I'm that zip, you'll find a file called UPDATE.APP . Create a folder in you internal storage called 'dload' and then go into settings-updater and do a local file update.

Did exactly what you said to do but the the issue is when I go to to open the zip file there's no file that says update.app

I think that's the issue maybe I'm missing something I'm not the brightest kitten in the litter lol

The zip file has a ? mark by it but I go to extract it and nothing in the zip file that resembles the update.app

The zip file says download center.bin and to the left of the file is a?

Is there something I don't understand or that I'm doing wrong?

Leorex - thanks for helping me out - like I stated earlier I'm not the brightest kitten in the litter. After tinkering around a bit - I figured it out and had no issues with the installation. For some strange reason I had to download the zip file with the stock browser I couldn't use the normal browser I use everyday but it's all good. Thanks for posting the link to download for the person that started this thread - you guys on AC are the greatest

So far so good. Runs smoother ( which is a plus in my opinion ) But I've noticed a couple of odd things. First I noticed no more option for local file update ( when go to updater menu ). Second I noticed no more stock huawei/honor browser available in new uodate as well.

Yep.... you're right. You might still be able to update locally from either eRecovery or Recovery. I'll have to look at some point. As for the browser, maybe they decided to drop it on the US build since Chrome will come preinstalled.

One thing I've noticed is that Doze is either not functioning in this release, or the stats are not properly reported... the monitor tools I have show zero Doze sessions, and I can't even force it into Doze. I haven't followed up as of yet. I can only assume that this is a bug... OEMs are forbidden to modify Doze (or disable it).

∆This.

Very smooth and flawless install (quite simple really) on my own honor 5X.
