US unlocked version

How long do you think it will be before this is released? Anyone know when the unlocked G4 or G5 came out after the carrier releases hit? I have the VZW version on preorder but I might cancel if I thought the unlocked was coming soon.

That's not the only reason to get the unlocked version. It's also carrier unbranded meaning it won't have the annoying carrier logo at boot up and will get updates on a different schedule. I'm hoping the unlocked version has dual sims.

The updates on unlocked versions isn't always a good thing. The Galaxy S7 unlocked phones still don't have nougat as far as I'm aware. Whereas all the carrier branded ones do.

If the unlocked version had dual sims I'd be switching immediately but I highly doubt it will.

That is a downside. Normally on all the unlocked versions I have had I always got updates later than carriers.

I don't have any particular insight into the exact date range of the U.S. version, but it's already listed on B&H and if the V20 was any indication it should launch close to the carrier versions.

Remember that the original/expected carrier launch date was April 7, before the carriers all sort of started jumping the gun and shipping sooner. There's a chance that the U.S. unlocked model may be closer to that original time frame.
