USB C HDMI output while charging

I have a v20 and use this:

to output to HDMI. THe issue is that I cannot charge while using the adapter. Is there a "USB-C splitter" that would allow me to charge while using this adapter?

Without root access you cannot charge or supply power to the host (the phone), only the peripherial (the HDMI adapter) gets power. You would have to root the phone and install a kernel modified to allow charging while in host mode.

Try to use an OTG cable with USB power supply to save some battery life, it should supply some power to the peripherial without draining the host.

If your adapter will play for 2 hours of hdmi without disconnecting from tv by itself don't mess with it. Most of them self disconnect.
