USB C to HDMI Issue

Do I got a USB type C cable to HDMI to be able to hook up my TV to my phone and it wants to keep disconnecting. I've cleared the cache and data from the USB app checked all the ports and it seems to be ok for awhile then kicks out again. Anyone else having any issues like this? I got the cable because I do not have Internet access so I use my phone for pretty much everything and wanted the cable for YouTube and Netflix.

Is it screen related? Meaning does the phone go to sleep when the disconnect happens?

Screen on the TV goes dead and the phone just says HDMI disconnected.

I've run into a similar issue with USB C based thunderbolt 3 cables. The S8 is not thunderbolt, but cable is similar and contains a translation chip.

I recommend trying another cable or better yet get a USB C to HDMI dongle. Samsung makes one that will surely work.

I'll try a new cable from Samsung...the cable I have is new so I hate to not use it but I'll see about returning it.
