USB cable head gets extremely hot whilst charging the Note 5

Hi. As the title says everytime i put the fone on charge using the original charger and the cable that came with it. The cable head the part where the cable goes into ur fone gets really hot.
It only happens when im not using the fone and its only charging. But when the screen is on n im using it but also charging it at the same time the cable doesn't get hot.

The phone gets charged normally. Like at a fast rate as expected But i would like to know if this is normal or should i replace the cable. The adapter is ok temperature wise just the cable head and that too only when the fones is nt being used.

Never know. May be bad wiring in the cable. Grab a new one. Or even replace both the cable and power block altogether. Seems strange that it only gets hot when you're not using it.

Yeah i am gonna try a different cable and see if that makes any difference.

Yup it turnd out to be the cable. I just swapped it with the one i had in my car for the car charger and this one is fine with the adapter. So i have stopped using the other one. As this one doesnt gt hot at all .

This is completely normal behavior for Fast Charging. You are not getting the heat with the cable from your car charger because it doesn't use as much current as the OEM one. Watch your charge rates drop to at least double between 0-80% compared to the stock cable.

Hmm interesting. I will let u no how it goes coz iv only tried the other (from car charger) cable twice now and i didnt notice any difference in the time may be i wasn't paying attention to it.
But when i bought the car charger the seller did mention that this is a genuine samsung cable. I couldn't tell how true that is cz thy both look just the same.

Mine used to do this alot. I actually have 4 chargers and swapped the N5 with the GS6 fast charger and worked better. Strange how that happens. I also use a TAB A charger and even though it does not say Fast charging on it. it works the best with no heat issues. just sucks its a 1 ft cord

I've been using the 3 and 6 ft Anker cables with their Quick Charge Charger since buying the Note 5 sixteen months ago. Charge fast, no issues, no problems, no excess heat... they work as designed.

The issue is mainly from third party cables. I have been using a newer Samsung cable and no heat issues at all
