USB debuuging & tethering Help!

I am having a problem with usb debugging turning off since update to GB 2.3.5 on a fascinate
plugged into an imac. Have used various tethering programs (pdanet, easy tether, cwm tether)
the same thing happens with all of them. I turn on usb debugging plug my usb cable into my
wife's phone I am able to connect for about 2-3 minutes and then the usb mas storage droid pops
up and disconnects my internet connection. Does any one know of a way to force usb debugging
to stay on, will rooting the phone give me this option or going back to froyo.

I have a droidx running 2.3.3 using an imac & pdanet and have no problems staying connected
as soon as I plug in my droidx usb debugging automatically turns on and stays on also mas storage is availabe the whole time I am plug in.

If rooting will fix this, does anyone have instructions to root with imac

Well, could you do tether with USB debugging before? Anyway, welcome to the forums

yes it worked without any problem before GB update, was working with pre froyo update
