USB Endoscope Camera will not work at all.

I bought one of those cheap endoscope cameras on TMart from China. I got it to work on my PC after installing the software it came with but it is absolutely not recognized as even existing on both my Samsung Note 5 or my Galaxy S4. The software CD came with 2 different .apk's I installed them both, neither one works. I have used 2 different OTG cable adapters and even tested OTG function by plugging in a USB keyboard that is recognized and works fine. Ihave tried 5-6 different software apps and none see this camera as existing. My Note 5 is stock on Marshmallow and my S4 is rooted and on Lollipop. I even have an old Moto RAZR. It also will not display the image BUT it did recognize it as "USB 2.0 Camera (Etron Technology, Inc.)" It goes to the camera display screen but there is still no image. But at least the RAZR "thinks" it sees a camera. The Galaxy phones act like there is nothing connected. Anyone have any ideas? This kind of sucks. I know the camera works because it works on my PC so why not on my phone. I thought we had USB functionality?

I'm having the same experience exactly. My "USB 2.0 Camera (Etron Technology, Inc.)" scope works on my pc laptop just fine but my KitKat phone doesn't detect it, Lollipop tablet detects it but can't see out of it. Tried a buttload of apps, including the one linked to by wheelerpr. Darn the bad luck... I guess we're stuck with a reasonably priced Windowscope!

I have this exact same problem on my galaxy note 4, bought the camera, tried without the usb adapter that was provided, does not detect the camera. got a few different OTC cables, 1 detected the device as an etron usb 2.0 camera, but none of the software apps out there detect it or crash, the camera's led lights come on when its plugged in, so i know there is power. and it works fine on pc, when i was able to find software that worked with it.

I have the same problem on my note 4.
Camera works on pc but nothing happens at all when plugging into the note 4.
When I first got the camera in Feb 2016, it worked fine!
Not sure what has changed since then. The phone Version is 5.1.1 and not sure if that has been updated since Feb.
Ideas anyone?

I have a feeling it's something to do with the latest galaxy android firmware. But I wouldn't know where to start on finding out the cause

I installed otg troubleshooter and it has "OTG detected" when I plug in the usb camera. But the next 2 are red "X".
"No usb device detected in Linux"
"No usb device detected in Android"
Device Code: trlte Hardware:qcom
USB Hubs: 4
What does it mean!

I bought the following endoscope camera: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B...ag=hawk-future-20&ascsubtag=UUacUvbUpU5421311

I can use it on my Note 5 which is on Marshmallow, however I read somewhere that if you are trying to use it with Lollipop (5.x) you are going to have problems because of the way permissions were done in Lollipop. I can confirm that my camera will not work with Lollipop.

I have used the following apps with it: CamerFi and Mscopes for USB Cameras.

Thanks for that imarek, have you had any issues with Marshmallow? Did the note 5 come with it?

Camera working in s8+ .. used the full size Ian adapter that came with the phone and the full size Ian adapter that came with the camera. Had no problems with any software. The micro usb will NOT work but the full sized usb adapter is fine. Hope this helps anyone..

Works on the Note 8 using the Samsung full sized USB adapter as well. Would not work with a mini adapter.
Thanks for the tip!

I really need mine to start working again. I use mScope. It was working fine on my LG V10 with a micro-USB connection (both on my scope and my phone). But after I upgraded to the S8+, it isn't recognized. I used the adapter that came with the phone that lets me plug the micro-USB plug of the scope into it and then the USB-C male end into the phone. The only other adapter that came with the phone is a male micro-USB to USB-C adapter that the Verizon tech used to transfer files. What else do I need? Can you give me a link? Or even a picture of what you're using?

Try the program real vision endoscope took care of this problem for me had the same problem tried everything finally this program worked it is on google play store of course the last program I tried but it took care of my problem at least mine is a Samsung J7

I had the same problem worked on my pc but on my phone the light would come on but no camera. (REALVISION ENDO) finally is working.

I have had same issue with my endoscope camera from China. I purchased two types, one with 1m cable and second with 5m cable.
First one with 1m cable work fine, second one with 5m cable didn`t work at all. I got black screen on my android phone with no video.

I found a solution for that problem. The cable with a camera is low quality so a long lenght is a problem. I just cut 5m cable to 3m and resolder it to a PCB where a potenciometer and a push-switch is.
Camera now works fine with 3m cable length.

This is interesting, but I would like to know if your phone is a Huawei P10. I have a Teslong MS 100 with a rather short cable. In the datasheet the product is said to be compatible with a number of Huawei phones, but P10 Lite is not mentioned. I also purchased a second endoscope camera against the assurance that it would work with P10 Lite. I tried all of the most popular OTG camera apps to no avail and returned it. I also unlocked my phone flashed my ROM with TWRP, installing a couple of patches, designed, if I remember correctly for the P9. All once again to no avail.
I am curious to know if a P10 Lite is missing some vital piece of hardware to enable an Endoscope Camera or it's just a matter of software, which would induce me to further attempts in the hope of solving this riddle.
