Usb false notification

So today I pull my phone out of my pocket and it is telling me that the usb is connected. Restarted and that did nothing. Did a battery pull and that did nothing. Anyone else have this issue?

Turn USB debugging on and off

Have the identicle problem after gingerbread. Persists, even after going into settings and turning off USB - i.e., notify only when connected.

I got a recommendation on another forum that it could be lint or something in the port. Blew that out and it seems to have fixed it...for now.

I had this problem too. It finally got to the point that the phone bricked itself. Had to get a refurb and they weren't very happy to give it to me seeing as how my warranty had run out. But after explaining to them that my phone wouldn't be bricked if it were still running Froyo, they sent me the refurb.

I ended up calling verizon about it and they had me do a *228 to update. Seems to have fixed it so far.
