USB storage only works when I enable "USB DEBUGGING"

Before I rooted my Nexus 5, my phone would connect to my PC and show up on My Computers.

After root however, it no longer shows up. It only shows up if I enable USB Debugging in developers mode. Why is that?

disable USb debugging and change driver from adb to MTP device in device manager..

also check MTP on storage settings
