I have home and car chargers that I used for my old Samsung T528G phone. It looks like it has the same charger plug as my new Galaxy Nexus so, can i use my old chargers with my new phone?

Let's put it this way I haven't unpacked the chargers with the last two phones I've bought over yhr past year and hasn't been an issue.

I charged my HTC Inspire with a blackberry charger with same USB connectors. Was slightly more power and it made my HTC not respond to touch while plugged in. The phone is fine though. But USB cable should make no difference

The is about the nexus 7 but has lots of detail about USB cables if you're interested

Any micro USB charger of moderate quality should work just fine. I've found some cables here and there that don't work, but in general the charging is all standardized.

Different chargers pull different amperage, usually ranging from 500mA to 2.1A, so be aware of that when looking at charging times.

It might charge slower if your old charger puts out less current, but that's really the only concern, I think.
