When I got my S25 Ultra I used Smart Switch to transfer data from my S23 Ultra. The only problem was that I did not get notifications and had to uninstall and reinstall every app. With my new S26 Ultra arriving Monday, I'm wondering should I trust Smart Switch. I would like to hear from users who get their S26 Ultra and use Smart Switch. I have over 100 apps and setting up manually is very tedious.

I assume you have to go through a partial setup before you can get to the Play Store to download the Smart Switch app to the new, phone,. Also some say to leave the Sim card in the old phone until setup is complete? Others say they put the Sim card in the new phone right away. I guess either or will work.

I'm going to do a clean install. It takes time, but I don't mind. I've got absolutely nothing else to do.

In the past I've cleaned up unused apps before transferring via Smart Switch to keep my new phone uncluttered. That was much quicker and worked great.
Before I got my 24 I got rid of apps I don't use and cleaned stuff up. But I wish I had done smart switch to the computer I don't know how you do that cuz I have a Windows computer do you have to download Smart switch to your computer I guess I could do it with my tablet I got an S10 Plus. But I might start over fresh too as long as the app store shows me all the apps I had. But I'm so used to everything rolling over my home screens look the same my folders with all my apps but maybe I'll make this one different.

I may be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure the Smart Switch app is native to the OS of the phone and does not have to be downloaded from the Play Store.

You may very well be right. When you first power up the phone, it's on a "let's get started" screen. I assume you'll have to add your wifi and Google account before it will get to the home screen where you can access Smart Switch? I've only tried it one time and I can't remember. I'm sure I'll figure it out.

Me, personally, I set up as new every time. My wife used Smart Switch and it was easy as cake for her. Everything game over and was set up and looking like her old phone and she is happy. She is just exploring and tweaking now.
