Android Central Question

Bought my 2nd phone from backmarket. S10 for granddaughter great deal no issues.
This 2nd phone is a s10 plus. Beautiful phone for 250. The problem is it seems to battery drain way to fast. Charged to 90% last nite with no apps added after total reset except for my Google account.
7 hrs later in am battery is down to 50%. Its power optimized, wifi/Bluetooth off ect.
I've never seen battery issues with other s10's in the household. My question is i have the opportunity to send it back for replacement at no cost. Does it seem to any of you knowledgeable folks that the battery is failing?
Really appreciate the input.

Welcome to Android Central! Try installing AccuBattery and looking at the Battery Health reading after a few charge cycles. Anything under 90% will start to be noticeable in terms of battery drain, and <85% is generally felt to be a pretty deteriorated battery.

If your on andriod 12 yet go to device care and under diagnostic test battery , if not then Samsung members app under diagnostic.

Try charging the battery to 100 then turn off for 24hrs and when open what percentage its on ? Should be 100 or very close with no load can see if battery can hold a charge .Screenshot_20220119-214206_Samsung%20Members.jpg

Does that run a battery health test?

Looks like it's similar info -- it just tells you in plain English what the battery health is, and if the battery is deteriorating, then presumably the capacity that's shown will be significantly lower than what it's supposed to be.
