Using A Physical Camera Shutter Button

Hope everyone is enjoying their new toy as much as I am. One thing I always missed from some of the older devices was the physical camera button, since touching the screen to take the picture always made it blurry - well it's back! Forgive me if this is well-known, but it wasn't to me. Dig in the settings in the stock camera app - hit the gear - then the gear again - then the gear AGAIN, and you get options which include Volume Button. You can use them as zoon, shutter button, or start/stop record. I was excited to discover it!

You can also speak to the camera to take pictures by saying "capture", "shoot", "cheese" and one other command that I'm forgetting right now. I don't recommend using cheese for your command, though.

I used that feature on my S3 - but I always had to say it several times, kinda felt like an *****, haha... Also, when trying to take a picture of my daughter, she would look at me whenever I said it, which ruined the shot. Good tip though - in a lot of situations, the voice thing is great.

I own a galaxy music, and it would be great to use the music key as camera shutter... any post.?.. or help... for doing this?.... thanks....

It's interesting you mention this. My problem was always that I wanted more control over focus as mobile phone camera software wasn't brilliant at picking the correct area of a pic to focus on. So, the first thing I look for (and set) in a camera app is the ability to touch the screen and for the software to focus on where I touch. It's a must have feature for me these days. I haven't wanted or missed having a physical button for as long as I can remember.
