AC Question

I have an apple device, wandering if I can use android auto (and use waze for example) without actually purchasing an android device.

Would it work with any kind of android dongle+SIM card?

Any alternatives?

You need a qualified Android phone that has cell data connection. Waze is still too buggy right now. It crashes on my phone many times everytime I use it on my car.

You will need an Android device to use Android Auto in your car. It will also need to have a wireless connection available, such as Bluetooth to connect. In some automobiles, you can connect an android device with the android auto app installed via USB, and it will connect to your car's display automatically. I am unsure if any android dongle will work, but I presume if it has android auto installed and you can get the app to run when you connect it to the car, it could work.

In terms of alternatives, the easiest way would be to simply get a cheap android phone and use it just for Android Auto.
