using different app to open a file -?

Im having alot of problem trying to work out on my samsung galaxy phone - how to use a different app to open an extension, in this case I accidently pressed X-plore to open a *.pdf file , it cant open it - I do have pdf reader files on this mobile, on a pc its very is- how do I change -use a different app to open a file on android ??

Welcome to Android Central! Go to Settings>Apps, select X-plore, then Open by Default, and clear the default preferences there.

I merged your duplicate posts. Also, you posted in the Galaxy A5 forum -- the A5 is a really old phone, so are you talking about an A52 or A53 instead?

Might also have to reset app preferences in setting>apps>3 Dot upper right corner tap

FYI, I moved this from the Galaxy A5 forum to the Galaxy A Series forum, since you mentioned in another thread that you have a Galaxy A11.
