I have had my Incredible since release day and I still love it, but I have been lusting after some of the new phones that are coming. I strongly think I will upgrade to the Prime when it becomes available. My Incredible is still in great shape, but rather than sell the phone I am thinking of giving it to my 10 year old son as a WiFi only device. With that said I am extremely uncomfortable with a 10 year having unfiltered internet access. Is there a way to completely disable the stock browser, or password protect the browser so that only I know the password? I am also open to other creative solutions that will work. I realize my son could still download a different browser from the market. Please share thoughts. Thanks

There are a few apps in the market that allow you to password protect programs of your choice on your phone. They were developed for people who like to leave their phones lying around and their friends pick up their phones and post stuff to Facebook and things like that. This is what it I'm hearing that you need. just search the market.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I searched the market and found an app called "App Lock". It appears to do exactly what I want. It actually does more because now I can lock down YouTube, and even the Android Market. Keeping key apps locked will give me peace of mind that my son is not being exposed to inappropriate material. The Dinc should make for a very cool WiFi only device.

While searching the market, I came across App Lock - App Protector which not only blocks access to apps, including the market, but also the settings menu. Since we have a number of Android tablets that our service techs use, we may be trying this.

App Lock is definitely a great app. You should also check out this thread on XDA:
[Script] WiFi Only (Great for devices no longer activated) - xda-developers
It is a script for wifi only and will disable the radio so it just works with wifi only. it saves battery and you won't have to have airplane mode on always.
Also I thought somewhere I saw a ROM that is wifi only, but I can't find it.
Good luck!
